Julie Miller

Hi, My name is Julie. William and I were married for 21 years when he passed.

Dramatic Behind The Mic, LLC was born from the love of a man, son, husband, father, and friend. William “WeeGee” Howard gives his family, as our son calls it, “the gift of pressing PLAY to hear his voice”.

It has taken 20 years for me to be able to listen to his voice. I would break out in tears when I was in the grocery store and heard his voice over the loudspeaker. Our daughter asked if we could, “do something special in memory of him being gone for 20 years”. She said, “it seems like five, which seems like forever”.

Join our candid discussions about addiction, recovery, and how it affects all areas of your life and the lives of anyone near and dear to you.

We will be communicating both virtually and by phone, at this time, in respect of COVID-19. We will expand our knowledge and candidly share about this insidious disease of addiction, we will shine the bright light of exposure behind the mic.
Get to know the family, friends, and fans to share their love of music, and their love for a very talented and gifted entertainer. In doing the research for creating this site I found so many wonderful and complimentary comments about William. He would have loved to see them all. He LOVED HIS FANS!!!!!!

Join us as we blog, vlog, and share the life and times with the husband, father, son, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend.

Our Family

IS GRATEFUL

For the eternal gift of music given by our beloved, William “WeeGee” Howard, who performed with the Dramatics and as a solo artist. We are most grateful and blessed for knowing, loving, and for being loved by the inspiration for Dramatic Behind The Mic. What happens behind the mic, when the show is over? Life goes on!
In The Journey, (DBTM blog), family and friends who talk about growing up on the Northend of Detroit, MI, will share their experiences and memories. William studied his craft, he dissected the art. He sang in the talent shows, at Northern High School, alleyways, and literally on the street corners honing his craft. William loved David Ruffin, of the Temptations, who influenced his style and vocal range. He worked hard and played hard on his way behind the mic at Stax Records in Memphis, TN. As a result of his God-given talent, passion, and dreams, he grew into an internationally known recording artist whose voice is being bought, sold, enjoyed, and streamed to this very day.
DBTM would like to thank all who reached out, as a result of joining us at the memorial site for the 20th Anniversary of William’s passing. You uplifted us, assisted and directed us, and most importantly, encouraged us to share our stories.
The Journey speaks to how the inspiration for DBTM even got to Memphis, TN, what happened behind the mic? We hear from friends, family, and those that were there to witness, and have an influence on developing this internationally known recording artist whose voice is being bought, sold, enjoyed, and streamed today.
William and I both struggled with addiction for the most part of our adult lives. Our newest and upcoming venture, DBTM.Zone and our YouTube channel Dramatic Behind The Mic® will share behind-the-mic insights, experience, strength, hope, and what “living life on life’s terms” looks like to us and others. We want to share with you and we would like you to share with us. Our mission is to create a safe zone, where WE help each other in ways we are needed, willing and able. We will have honest and raw discussions and journey through life with addiction and recovery, through joy and pain, through life and death. See our appearance on Detroit’s own TV20 Ask The Messengers where we share about women in addiction, recovery, and life behind the mic on The Journey.
We fervently pray that sharing our story will help someone know and feel they are not alone and recovery is possible.
Yes, we want to hear from you, please. Contact us and tell your story. Let us know about organizations that help homeless families with children. We look forward to our outreach community growing to help families in need. Our common ground is the love of family, friends, and music. Our prayers are for healing, grace, gratitude, mercy, and love.
“And now these three remain faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV
