WEEGEE

FAMILY LIFE

To William and Poppy From

YOUR WIFE AND CHILDREN

Family Life

It has been over 20 years since your passing. No public statement was ever made by myself during this time due to the all-consuming pain, grief, guilt, and shame. Over the years, the pain turned to prayer and grief turned to gratitude.
Our family has been blessed with God’s grace and mercy by being together, and we even have another generation to celebrate, you are a Grandpop nine times over. Our daughter’s son was born on the day you passed, exactly one year later. God knew Daddy’s little girl would not survive without some joy on that devastating day. Then our beautiful granddaughter was born with the smile you definitely bestowed on her, with her dimples, a reminder of how hard you kissed her before she came to us.
Our son’s first son was born after he had a dream. He told me, “he talked to me for the first time in a dream, he actually talked to me.” Hardly able to contain his excitement, he beamed, “he was holding this little kid on his lap and smiling. When I asked him who the kid was he replied, he is your son, son”. Shortly after, during the reveal party, it was confirmed what was spoken in the dream, IT’S A BOY! Six years later, our son and daughter-in-love were given the news, they are expecting and the due date is July 13, 2020, your birthday. Our grandson was then born 3 1/2 hours after the day of your birth. I knew you weren’t going to share your birthday!
We know you would want me to share our story because you deserve to be remembered for your heart, which drove your passion for life. I know you gave your all. Having learned from your passing that love transcends time, I came to believe our soul is the memories we leave behind in a smile, a loving embrace, games, songs, toys, stories, and life lessons learned along the way passed down to future generations. We celebrate the life and legacy of the inspiration for Dramatic Behind The Mic®.

Thank you for your love.

Your loving Julie,
Forever And A Day

Where Were You When

"WHATCHA SEE IS WHATCHA GET" WAS RELEASED?

As they were driving down Woodward Avenue, the radio says, “It’s a hit, it’s a super soul hit, it’s Detroit’s super soul hit number one, Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get”!!! As the radio played the hot salsa soul beat, the tires screeched to a halt at the curb, the car barely stopped as everyone piled out, jumping and yelling in the middle of the street, “We did it, we got to number one”!!! Hear what William said about why he left, what he left behind, and what his life was like after he left his brothers, friends, and co-workers. What was the first glimpse of his dream, the moment he “knew” what he wanted to do?

What Really

HAPPENS BEHIND THE MIC?

Follow our blogs, and watch our video log and interviews on our upcoming YouTube channel, Dramatic Behind The Mic. You will also find us on Facebook and Twitter, as you find out the inside stories of the good times, bad times, and everything in between. After William passed, as I lived through the pain of living, I learned a lot along the way. Some of the most important things I have learned are, I am not alone, and I am not unique, “if there is a name to it someone has done it”. When I finally came out of the guilt and shame, my life was gone. Never to return, as I knew it.
Now, over 20 years after his passing, I am able to listen to his music, (not all the time, but most times), and life had to go on. Our daughter asked to do something special for his heavenly anniversary. This is a labor of love, I am NOT a website designer. “When you know better, you do better”. You are invited along to see what happened from then until now as we honor the legacy of the inspiration for Dramatic Behind The Mic, by sharing the memories left behind and now are passed on to the next generations.
Thank you for joining us, we certainly enjoy having you here. We hope that by sharing our experience, strength, and hope you will share yours. We are not alone, but we must do the work to stay connected, honestly, compassionately, and lovingly to uplift and encourage one another.
